What is healthy weight loss / diet? I lost 13 pounds in 17 days.?
I am a not a health person, so you might need any advice on the subject. I was tired of being a little chubby and I decided to lose some weight. I'm in my early 20's and my starting weight was 174 to 20 December. Now is January 5 and currently weight 161. I would like at around 140-145. So I lost 13 pounds in 16/17 days. From a look in the mirror I feel much better than I look thinner. I'm not sure of the methods proper healthy diet and exercise. I've been eating at about 400-500 calories per day (diet frozen meal) vitamins, every day 3 miles running / walking, push ups and sit-ups, drink lots of water. However, as of late I feel very exhausted and running seems much more difficult, headaches, small, hard to stay focused / sustained attention. Is my weight loss program damaging my health or am I doing this right? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
No dear, this really is not healthy. The amount you eat is burned with only 3 miles to run and I left without power … Well … live. The loss of nearly a pound a day is too much and can be very dangerous, see if you try to lose more than the recommended one to two pounds of fat per week, your body turn and burn its own muscle for energy. The loss of lean muscle mass denies any loss weight may be trying to accomplish, such as muscle is what makes your body healthy and toned. Having more muscle makes your resting metabolism work more drive, which means you burn more calories while you are resting. You should consume at least 1,200 calories a day to prevent muscle loss. In addition, the lethargy, the toll on your appearance, malnutrition and probable operation of the weakened immune system due to a very restrictive diet is not all that is great. You can afford to eat more and lose weight a little slower for the sake of your health! xxx
